ACTIVE ARMED OFFENDER
AWARENESS & PREPAREDNESS
WORKSHOPS

28 May 2026

10 Dhul Ḥijjah 1447 AH

Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh, dear brothers, sisters and respected committee members,

Following recent discussions regarding community safety and preparedness, the Ulama Board of Western Australia, in collaboration with community members, has arranged for Executive Risk Solutions (ERS) to deliver two complimentary half-day Active Armed Offender awareness and preparedness workshops for the Muslim community in Perth.

The workshops are specifically tailored for Masaajid and Islamic community settings, and will cover topics including:

  • Threat awareness and recognising suspicious behaviour
  • Reporting and communication pathways
  • Practical mosque security and site hardening measures
  • Emergency response principles during critical incidents
  • Community resilience and post-incident preparedness

The sessions will be delivered by experienced security and law enforcement professionals with backgrounds in policing, emergency response, protective security, and risk management.

Workshop dates and locations are as follows:

  • Sunday 5 July — Perth Mosque (08:30am to 12:30pm)
  • Sunday 12 July — DTYC Ellenbrook (08:30am to 12:30pm)

Given the practical and operational nature of the workshops, we ask each masjid or musalla to nominate one or two suitable representatives to attend on behalf of their community. This may include committee members, security volunteers, imams, teachers, or others involved in the operation and safety of the masjid or Musallah.

We would also appreciate committees forwarding this invitation to other Masaajid and musallas that may benefit from participating.

May Allah protect our communities, preserve our places of worship, and grant us wisdom in taking responsible and balanced means.

Wassalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh.

Mohammed Shakeeb
